Discipline
GPA Teacher provides the ability to record disciplinary actions regarding your students. To get started, click on the
Discipline icon from the
Navigation Bar at the top of your window. You may also click on the
Discipline link for one of your classes.
From the
Discipline window, click on a student to record disciplinary action taken. To view a list of your students rather than the
Seating Chart view, click on the
Class Roster link from the sidebar menu on the right-hand side of your window. The same disciplinary options are available.
Recording Disciplinary Actions
There are two ways to record disciplinary actions. You may add a
Discipline Record by clicking on the
+ Add a Record link on the left-hand side of the
Student Discipline window. Or you may add a
Discipline Box Message by clicking on the
+ Add a Message on the right-hand side of the window. Note that before you add a message, you'll first need to define one or more messages via the
Messages Editor from the main
Discipline window.
A
Discipline Box Message is a simple in-classroom disciplinary action taken in regards to the given student. For example, if a student requires a "time-out" or some similar punishment, you may opt to use the
Discipline Box Message.
A
Discipline Record is a more serious disciplinary action taken in regards to the given student. Such actions include
Detention,
Office Referral,
Suspension, and
Warning.
For both types of disciplinary action, fill in the appropriate details, then click either the
Add Record or
Add Message button at the bottom of the
Student Discipline window. Note that for a
Discipline Record, you have the option of including a description in the
Message area.
All disciplinary actions recorded in GPA Teacher are available for review.
